American Dental Hygienists' Association
I am a member of The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) and active in my state and local component. I currently serve as a liaison to numerous Ohio Dental Hygienists' Association councils, e.g., Annual Session Council, Continuing Education Council, Members Services Council, Executive Committee, & Legislative Council, as part of my role as Administrative Assistant for the Ohio Dental Hygienists’ Association.
I received the 2022 ODHA Outstanding Effort Award, which honors a selected member or ODHA Committee who has best exemplified outstanding service to the STATE Dental Hygienists’ Association during the fiscal year. In 2023, I received the Presidential Citation award (photo to the right), "In recognition of your service, dedication and your commitment to excellence that you aspire to achieve for our organization."
Student American Dental Hygienists' Association
I serve as an advisor for the Student American Dental Hygienists' Association. We have a Columbus State Community College Student Organization/Chapter. All dental hygiene students are members of SADHA, and we hold elections each spring to elect the Class Representatives. I mentor students in their roles.
Students and I organized a SADHA fundraiser in November 2024. We made over 50 dental hygiene themed friendship bracelets to sell at the ODHA Annual Session 2024 Exhibit Hall at Cherry Valley Hotel.

These events offer students invaluable networking opportunities. They connect with fellow dental hygiene students and professionals from across the state, engage with exhibitors and vendors, explore new dental hygiene products, and gain knowledge through continuing education events. Additionally, they have the chance to advocate for their future, enhance their professionalism, and foster a strong sense of belonging within their profession.
